sìloz is pretty straightforward. We allow a group or individual to leverage their social network to get donated items for a cause people actually care about. It's an emotionally and ideologically different premise than writing a check to a faceless, Washington D.C.-based non-profit, or a website full of worthy causes that amounts to a pity party (see: Charity Navigator). We keep 7.5% of public silos, and 2.5% of private silos. If just 1/10 of the just the churches in the US used our site vs. a roll-your-anonymous-white-elephant-items-to-church method, and half the items sold, we'd make hundreds of millions of dollars a quarter. But there is so much more than just churches. We have created a relevant, dynamic, resale website with several new features, including the ability to pay, online, and for sìloz to verify pickup of the item (Voucher/Key) - a problem that neither ebay nor airbnb nor zimride has yet solved. We use a unique, simple, two-part authentication method for this.
