Pivotal Defense has developed a software based security solution, Phantom, to detect sophisticated attacks such as Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs). In an APT attack, attackers find it relatively easy to infiltrate a network but they have one big weakness and that is imperfect knowledge of the victim company’s network. Phantom exploits this weakness as it confuses and misleads the attackers in locating the target assets, thereby increasing the cost to attackers. Phantom detects an APT attack in progress as it actively deceives an attacker into communicating with our platform and not the target assets. Compared to other security solutions, Phantom has very low total cost of ownership (TCO). Factors contributing to low TCO are zero false-positives, and ease of deployment, configuration and management. Fortune 500 and Global Fortune 1000 companies are the target customers. Companies in the financial and retail sector are usually security savvy and are considered early adopters.
