Like Groupon, Barkr is an advertising platform for discounted deals from retailers. Unlike daily deals, Barkr reaches customers via a free app that “barks” when they walk or drive by a deal's location. Local businesses self-enter great deals into the easy-to-use Barkr web form. Deals may be time-limited or first-come, first-serve. When a customer wishes to purchase a deal, they tap “Buy This Deal,” their credit card is charged, and they can cash it in immediately at the nearby retailer.
